Typing a permit route into a GPS takes about an hour – line by line, turn by turn, with the permit on your knee. One missed turn with an oversize load can mean a fine, or a road you cannot fit.
TruckRoute.AI reads your oversize permit for you. Upload it as a PDF or a photo, and the issued route is on the map in about 30 seconds. Then drive it with a warning the moment you leave the permitted route.
We built it because we drove trucks ourselves. TruckRoute.AI is made by Andrii and Iryna Bondarenko, a husband-and-wife team who ran across the US and wanted a co-pilot that actually knows it is routing a truck.
How it works
1. Open Oversize permits
In the TruckRoute.AI app, open Oversize permits on the Oversize plan. Your recent permit routes are in the same list, so last week’s permit is one tap away.
2. Upload your permit
Tap Upload permit and add the permit as a PDF or a photo. No retyping, no copying turns into notes.
3. Get the issued route in about 30 seconds
Patent-pending permit recognition reads the permit and builds the issued route on the map. You see the route ready to drive, with weigh stations, truck stops and rest areas along it.
4. Drive it – with an off-route warning
Start navigation. If you leave the permitted route, TruckRoute.AI warns you right away, so you can pull over safely and get back on the roads your permit allows.
Why oversize drivers use it
About 30 seconds instead of about an hour. Less time with the permit in your lap, more time rolling. In our own screen recordings the route was ready in well under a minute.
Built for oversize loads. TruckRoute.AI is made for oversize permits – the permits for the dimensions of your load – and for the drivers, pilot cars and permit desks who work with them every day. It works with oversize permits from every US state and gives you a DOT-compliant route that follows your permit.
The full truck co-pilot around the permit. Permit routing sits inside a complete truck GPS: truck-profile routing by height, weight and load type, toll costs before you go, live DOT alerts for closures, chain control and weigh stations, and official National Weather Service alerts on your route. The Oversize plan includes everything in Premium.
Hands-free. Ask the voice AI assistant about the weather and miles ahead while your hands stay on the wheel.
Made by drivers. We spent years on the road as a team. One winter our truck slid into a ditch because nobody warned us in time. TruckRoute.AI is the co-pilot we wish we had that day.

Oversize permit routing FAQ
Can I upload my oversize permit?
Yes. On the Oversize plan, open Oversize permits, tap Upload permit and add your permit as a PDF or a photo. TruckRoute.AI reads the permit and puts the issued route on the map, with weigh stations, truck stops and rest areas along it. Your recent permit routes stay in one list, so you can open them again on the next trip.
How fast does TruckRoute.AI turn a permit into a route?
In about 30 seconds. Typing a permit route into a GPS turn by turn takes about an hour by hand. TruckRoute.AI reads the permit for you and builds the issued route on the map, ready to drive. Permit recognition is patent pending. Build time depends on the permit and your connection, so check the route against your permit before you roll.
Will TruckRoute.AI warn me if I leave my permit route?
Yes. On the Oversize plan, TruckRoute.AI follows the issued route from your permit and shows a warning as soon as you leave it, so you can pull over safely and get back on the permitted roads. A wrong turn with an oversize load can mean a fine or a road you cannot fit, so the warning helps you catch a missed turn early.
Which states’ oversize permits can TruckRoute.AI read?
Oversize permits from every US state. Upload the permit your state DOT issued, as a PDF or a photo, and TruckRoute.AI puts the issued route on the map in about 30 seconds. Permit layouts differ from state to state, so always compare the route on the map with your permit before you roll, and keep the permit with you on the trip.
How much is the Oversize plan?
The Oversize plan is $29.99 a month or $299.99 a year in the US. It adds oversize permit routing: upload a permit, get the issued route on the map and a warning if you leave it. The Oversize plan also includes everything in Premium. Prices can vary by country and store. Cancel anytime in your store settings.
Does TruckRoute.AI replace my permit, pilot cars or legal checks?
No. TruckRoute.AI is a navigation aid, not a permit or a legal service. Your issued permit and its conditions, state rules, posted signs, escort and pilot car requirements and instructions from officials always come first. Keep the permit with you, compare the route on the map with it before you roll, and stop safely if anything does not match. The driver stays responsible for the route.
Permit in. Route out.
